What types of questions do you ask yourself when planning a new book?
In having five published books and four Anthologies, “In order to achieve my goals, who needs to read my book?” “Who will benefit the most from my ideas and viewpoint?” or “Who is responding to my content already?” Then I identify the novel premise and pick a point of view for prose.
What would you say is the most difficult part of writing a book?
The most difficult part of writing for me is It requires hard work, extreme ambition, and intense discipline. Even for successful writers of bestsellers, the hardest part of the writing process can be simply sitting down to write the first page. If you take it one step at a time, though, writing a book is an attainable goal. So I have to make sure when writing I attain the right goals.
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
I have written five books and 4 anthologies. My favorite would be hard to say because there is a little of me in all of them. If I had to choose it would be my 2nd release, “The Women Cheater”, because it shows a side that most people don’t want to talk about it was one of my best sellers and I got a lot of great feedback from it.
Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
I do hear from my readers in emails and social media. Most people want to know how I get my content or when is a sequel coming. I have not ventured into sequels and a lot of people reach out for them.
What does your family think of your writing?
My family has been very supportive of my writing. I don’t put out a book but every few years and my husband are always asking why? He pushes me to keep writing. I have other things in life that I like to focus on such as domestic violence and life coaching so that does not allow me to write every day. When God puts it in my spirit to put out a book then that’s my focus.
How do you create your main characters?
My latest book is a devotional. My others have characters. I just think of my storyline and come up with the characters as I go along. It could be people I knew and changed names that had similar behavior or either making up people who may go through the something I talk about and build a character.
When did you write your first book and how old were you?
I wrote my first book thirteen years ago in 2010. I was a flop, so I did a redo of the book in 2012 in which I was 43 years of age.
How do your books get published?
With all of my books, I am self-published. I hire a self-publishing company to do the work and have been with the same one for years, and switched this year with the new book. If works for me and I own my rights.
What would you like to say to your readers?
I appreciate all of my readers and thank you to all that has followed me and also shared my content on their social media platforms. I also appreciate my readers getting every book when they are released. I have a lot of followers and a lot of them are so supportive and it’s much appreciated.
