Tell us about yourself.
I am a Valentines Day baby, born I’m 1925, so that makes me 97 years young. I am the last surviving sibling of 16 children born to Ella and Richard Michie in Asbury Park NJ. I spent most of my life in NYC working, married, and raising eight children.
Where did you get your inspiration from to write your latest novel?
By the way I chose to live my life and not let life define me
If you could give advice to your younger self, what would that advice be?
Slow down and nit rush through life.
If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Former President, Barack Obama. I’ve lived to see many Presidents whose made promises during their presidency, but to see a president who made no promise but allowed us to believe we can, and we did; even if it was for a little while was the change I wanted to live to see.
If you could place your book on audiobook, who would be the best narrator?
There are so many promising passages in Learn, Love, Lead It would be a blessing to have James Earl Jones, just like the words in Learn, Love, and Lead; his words are powerful.
What did you learn from writing your book?
I am the master of my own reality.
How did you get your books published?
I am one of the many co-authors in the book. It is the brain child of Angela Thomas Smith who had a vision and she asked if I would affirm the movement
What makes a good story?
Knowing your audience find what you wrote is interesting or important.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A police officer
Why did you write your story?
To give the next generation something to think about
What would you like to say to your readers?
There is so much more to life then what you maybe led to believe so stop wasting time on the small things and live.
